"Born in Georgia"

24.01 to 01.06.2009

The early 1990s were a period of relative peace in Europe. The Soviet Union had collapsed and many countries started to see the beginnings of peace and democracy. Yet there were exceptions to this, such as in the Caucasus, particularly Georgia. A number of wars continued to influence the country, but also its art an art that is fascinating because of its modern, Western influences, combined with a reflection of its roots in this region.
